A great system for the street and venturing into the "backcountry"
Did you expect the gang at Carli to sit idle even though they already have 6 different variations of their 3" systems? Even though Sage and the crew have had their hand fulls with the production of all of their current products, development of the upcoming 6" Dodge kits, and the progression of their Super Duty setups they still found time to come out with another offering. With the release of the new 5160 remote reservoir shocks from Bilstein, Carli saw an opportunity to use them in their current lineup. But like everything Sage gets his hands on, he saw room for improvement. After many discussions with the big wigs over at Bilstein and alot of shock tuning sessions in the desert and on the street, Carli was able to develop their own specific version of these shocks. The extended and compressed lengths were optimized for the most possible travel and the piston and valve circuit were changed to mimic the valving used in the Performance 2.0 shocks make this an intelligent choice for those of us who don't pound whoops and jump sand dunes, but still want to have incredible off-road characteristics and that signature Carli Suspension street drive.
The same internals, design and performance, with different hardware to work in concert with O.E.M. shock towers. This system will deliver the same ride quality as the Performance 2.0, while saving you some coin. By eliminating the need for the billet shock clevises and the shock end bearings/misalingment spacers, a very expensive machining and coating process is omitted from the system price tag. This shock package is a bit easier to install since the rear shocks uses banjo fittings and the reservoirs clamp to the shock body. The fronts are a direct bolt in since they are a pintop design that doesn't require any adapting clevise or hardware. Since all of the attachment points use bushings and sleeves it makes for a quieter and maintenance free installation which also leads to a slight increase in street ride comfort..
The Back Country kit comes with Carli Suspension's custom tune and offers the most wheel travel out of the entire Dodge Ram Suspension line: 11.5" front and 13.5" rear - more travel, more articulation and more comfort. Customized for our customer's who are on the road, highway and towing or hauling.
Internally the shock is the same as the 7100 series, wrapped in a package more appropriate for manufacturing to our specs in quantity - allowing Carli Suspension to offer more performance and pass down bulk order discounts.
Notes for 2010+ trucks:
Some of the 2010+ trucks use larger 12mm threaded hardware as opposed to the 10mm threaded hardware on most trucks. You will need to confirm what version your truck uses by checking the hex nut size on the top of your factory end link. If it uses an 18mm socket then you have the 12mm version. If the nut is a smaller 15 or 16mm nut then you will need the standard 2010+ end links.
Shipping Info - If you are choosing the full leaf upgrade we will need you to provide an address that accepts freight truck deliveries as the kit will ship on a pallet.
